This Week's GC Top Ten List - Bidding Ends Sunday, October 9th, 2022

Pacific CAC Collection, Sunset Collection, Superb 1894 Morgan Proof...

Welcome to this week's Top Ten List from GreatCollections, featuring coins in our second auction of October - with bidding to end on Sunday, October 9th.

The Pacific Collection is one we are always pleased to offer coins from - the whole collection is CAC-approved, scrutinized by CAC and the owner.

Individual highlights include a superb 1894 Morgan Silver Dollar graded PCGS Proof-66 DCAM with CAC approval, key date 1928 Peace Dollar graded PCGS MS-66 CAC, 1924-S Saint-Gaudens PCGS MS-64+ CAC, key 1913-S Barber Quarter PCGS VF-20 CAC and several better date O-Mint $20 Liberty Double Eagles.

The Sunset Collection is featured again - this time is Part 193 and includes a nice selection of coins with superior eye appeal.

Another featured collection is the Bluegrass Collection of U.S. coins - which arrived at GreatCollections in Dansco albums - clearly the best collection we have handled from Dansco albums.  The Seated materal was almost complete.  We are auctioning the 500+ coins over several weeks.

And although these ten auctions might be perfect for what you're looking for, please be aware that this is only a tiny percentage of the whole auction.  Each week, GreatCollections auctions over 4,000 certified coins and banknotes!  So, if you don't see anything of interest below, be sure to browse our categories or view all upcoming auctions.

Happy collecting!

- Ian

Number 10:

1894 Morgan Silver Dollar PCGS Proof-66 DCAM CAC

A superb 1894 Morgan Dollar Proof - graded PCGS Proof-66 DCAM with CAC approval. Striking contrast between Liberty and fields.

Sold for $29,251.12  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (47 Bids)

Number 9:

2006-W $50 One-Ounce Gold American Eagle 20th Anniversary Reverse Proof PCGS Proof-70

One of the keys to the Gold Eagle series, and always in demand, this Reverse Proof was the first issued in this finish (along with the 2006-P Silver Eagle). It is graded PCGS Proof-70.

Sold for $3,336.75  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (50 Bids)

Number 8:

2008 Humbert Commemorative 2.5 oz. Troy 999.9 Thous. Fine Certified Pure California Gold NGC Gem Proof UC

This "slug" restrike was made with California gold, and struck in 2008. Contains 2.5 Oz. of gold.

Sold for $5,502.38  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (15 Bids)

Number 7:

1892-O Barber Half Dollar Micro O PCGS VF-35 CAC

The Mirco O variety of the 1892-O is a rare coin - and missing from many collections. Graded PCGS VF-35 with CAC approval. And like some of the other PCGS coins on this Top Ten list, resides in an older blue generation PCGS holder.

Sold for $16,949.25  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (37 Bids)

Number 6:

1910 Indian Gold Eagle PCGS MS-66+ CAC

Indian Gold Eagles, also designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens have not increased in value at the same pace as the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles, so we believe they are good value in today's market. Almost MS-67, this PCGS MS-66+ CAC example of the 1910 Philadelphia Indian Eagle is attracting a lot of attention.

Sold for $38,250.00  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (31 Bids)

Number 5:

1913-S Barber Quarter PCGS VF-20 CAC

When you think of Barber Quarters, the 1913-S is always at the top of the list (with the 1901-S). This is a very pleasing Very Fine example, graded PCGS VF-20 with CAC approval.

Sold for $8,298.00  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (45 Bids)

Number 4:

1924-S Saint-Gaudens Gold Double Eagle PCGS MS-64+ CAC

A better date Saint-Gaudens, almost Gem quality - currently graded PCGS MS-64+ with CAC approval. An underrated coin in today's market in our opinion.

Sold for $41,456.25  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (71 Bids)

Number 3:

1899-O Barber Half Dollar PCGS MS-66 CAC (Toned)

The Pacific Collection is featured this week at GreatCollections - all CAC approved coins, like this 1899-O Barber Half Dollar, graded PCGS MS-66 with CAC approval. Very attractively toned.

Sold for $14,906.25  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (20 Bids)

Number 2:

1928 Peace Silver Dollar PCGS MS-66 CAC

The key date - 1928 Peace Dollar - graded PCGS MS-66 with CAC approval.

Sold for $41,750.21  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (43 Bids)

And Number 1:

1855-O Liberty Gold Double Eagle NGC AU-55

One of the better date Liberty Gold Double Eagles included in our auctions this week, this 1855-O was graded NGC AU-55 a while ago, based on the general of holder it resides in.

Sold for $46,254.38  (incl. Buyer's Fee)  (8 Bids)
